      My market is:

I work primarily in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado, including the communities and rural areas around Colorado Springs and along Ute Pass in El Paso and Teller counties, as well as eastern Park County.  I am a full-service Realtor.  My experience with mountain properties and the issues of mountain living, plus my unhurried and factual approach to real estate, gives both buyers and sellers the confidence they need to make wise and important decisions.

Call or email me today!

 My Location

My office is in the quaint community of Woodland Park, the "City Above the Clouds" which sits at an elevation of 8500 feet. It is the largest settlement in Teller County with about 7000 residents - just 18 miles (20 minutes) up Ute Pass west of Colorado Springs.  One of the best views of Pikes Peak ever can be viewed from the town.
My brokerage is Real Estate by Dave Martinek, located at 400 W. Highway 24, Suite 208, in Woodland Park.

Home Buyers, There's an Easier Way to Search?

IT'S A FACT!  Eighty percent of potential home buyers search for properties online before ever contacting a Realtor.  Sites
like Realtor.com, Zillow and Trulia allow one to look all over the nation with a high degree of anonymity. But, if you're tired of the time-consuming search routine and want to concentrate on properties in the Pikes Peak/Ute Pass region without a lot of hassle, and with the most timely and accurate information, there's a much better way.  Read on...

SAVE TIME. Wouldn't it be easier to have a custom search program, tailored specifically to the property features you are looking for?  A program that will email periodic search results to you with the most timely information?  Well, it's possible, and there's absolutely no cost or obligation.  It's free!
HOW IT WORKS.  With a little personal information and a general description of the features you want, properties that match your desired criteria are sent to you in periodic emails directly from the local Pikes Peak Association of Realtors' multiple listing service. The local PPAR MLS lists the most accurate and current information about each property, i.e., features, status and price. Each email links you to your own custom and personal webpage where you can review all the properties in the privacy of your home, including photos.  Simple, right?
THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW.  Imagine being able to review applicable properties in the leisure and comfort of your own home without having to search for hours online to find them.  Save some time! Email or call me with a description and price range of the kind of property you're seeking.  Let's get started!

One of them could be just what you're looking for!

Living in the Mountains
Living in the mountains can be an amazing and wonderful experience. Shirt-sleeve summer days have mild temperatures, fresh air, lots of sun and occasional cleansing mountain rains. When the aspen leaves turn to a golden yellow in the fall, the landscape is absolutely beautiful! And in winter, the scenery changes to a wonderland of pine boughs decorated with snowy frosting. But, mountain living can also be an adventure, requiring an adjustment to the lifestyle you led in the city or at lower elevations. Besides growing accustomed to the altitude and over 300 days of sunshine annually, you will need to get used to a little (or a lot of) snow between September and May, as well as bone up on your winter driving skills. As the locals say, "Spring only comes on the calendar." You'll also need to develop a good working knowledge of such issues as:  dealing with the wildlife, proper garbage storage and disposal techniques (because of the wildlife), water conservation and local covenants and building codes. And if you choose to live in a rural area, you'll need to know about wells, septic systems, legal access issues and mining claims. Once acclimated though, mountain living becomes a wonderful and rewarding way of life. Just about three out of every four people who live here migrated from somewhere else and have adapted. You can, too!

Mountain Realtors know all about mountain issues.

Always consult with your "hometown" mountain Realtor.

 Click the moon!
A variety of information awaits you, all designed to assist you in becoming more familiar with the Pikes Peak and Ute Pass area or to guide you to your tourist objectives. Also available are a number of other features which can be used for reference or pure enjoyment. Scan through a list of links to some of my favorite or recommended websites. There's a useful link for those thinking of buying or selling a home or property in the area, too. Or learn about living with our regional wildlife, like mountain lions and bears (oh my!).
So dive in to explore and enjoy!

Turning a 'maybe' into 'certainty'

Maybe, you're seeking a secluded get-away – someplace for vacationing, where you can throw a log on the fire and let the solitude dissolve away all your tensions. Maybe, it has a porch for sitting and a Pikes Peak view that captures your heart, as well as your imagination. Or, maybe you’re interested in a bit of land somewhere, nestled in the mountain foothills, near a meadow, and handsomely treed where you hope to build that dream home or cabin. On the other hand, maybe your dream doesn't include the mountains at all. Maybe you like city living and just want to be close enough to the mountains for those weekend escapes. Perhaps you are thinking of a comfortable home along the Front Range, in Colorado Springs or one of its suburbs.

Whatever your reasons, whatever your dreams,... whatever your "maybe's" may be, I can help you turn those “maybe’s” into reality - into "certainty."

Colorado is beautiful anytime of the year – a place to visit or a place where you can find and build your dreams.  For some, the travel books come alive once they see the mountains. They go home and remember the experience forever.  For others, the lure of the mountains is much stronger.  It compels them to come back and live here. The images throughout this site illustrate the natural beauty and wonder of Colorado.  But the real wonder of this place is its siren song, that sings unrelentingly, and beckons you to return...and maybe stay.

“Come for a visit... - - Stay for a lifetime!”
